Information Technology has come a long way since the days of a business having a single PC stuck away in the corner processing invoices and purchase orders and occasionally being used to browse the very limited content of the Internet. Back then PCs were expensive, complicated to use, not very versatile and were considered pretty much alien to all but a limited few. In today’s world, computing is ubiquitous and comes in a wide variety of forms, intuitive and an absolute necessity of business. And yet, in some ways, the mindset of business itself has not moved very far beyond these out-of-sight days.
Mathias Tölken has written a series of articles to help explain the Strategic power that IT holds. As well as it’s potential strategic value that IT could add to your business. We encourage you to read all the articles and please make contact with us if you have any questions or suggestions.
More about the author:
Mathias Tölken co-founded Space Age with Mark Geschke in 1994 during their second year of University studies. The idea of being “At the Forefront of Technology” was the first slogan coined by Mathias and has stayed a central motto in their business endeavours ever since.
Today, Mathias is focussed on moving Relevant IT from being a theory into a practical service complementing the existing MSP offering. In these initial phases of adoption, he is committed to driving new and existing SME clients to undertake and verify a Relevant IT assessment, the first crucial step on this journey. Once a verified assessment of the company’s current IT situation is complete, weaknesses can be accurately assessed and decisions taken on the next steps of the process. This service is called the Business Strategy for IT.
Due to his entrenchment in the research and development of this service, Mathias is also ideally positioned to assist clients with the next step as an implementation expert.
Outside the office, Mathias’ passion also lies in helping people. He is director and chairperson of Eduvate (Space Age Technologies’ CSI program), a volunteer mountain rescuer and an active participant in a number of other organisations. In several of these endeavours he is joined by his wife, Gela. For recreation they do hiking / mountaineering as well as ballroom & latin dancing.
