We recently invited some of our clients to the launch of our BI for SMEs services. It was a resounding success with a room full of nearly 100 people, thanks to all who attended!
Our MD Mark Geschke was first on the podium and proclaimed “IT is broken”, that certainly got the attention of the audience. He then went on to explain how we need to find a way to start the journey to relevant IT - IT that aligns with the business goals and plays a much more strategic role than currently. Watch his presentation to dive deeper into his cutting edge thoughts on how IT can and should help grow a business.
Before we were all treated to a scrumptious breakfast at the never disappointing Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West, Vusi Nkomo gave us a dazzling intro into the world of Business Intelligence. He too has recorded his presentation – watch “BI’s Secret Dimension”, a 22 min video.
After the breakfast it was time for the main presentation and a live demo of Tableau Software, the fastest growing rapid-fire BI tool around. And rapid fire it was. With a couple of clicks it is possible to change the way data is visualised instantly. As one of the attendees put it so aptly: “Being able to play around with data to find trends etc, without taking too much time while doing so is an advantage indeed”
A couple of the responses we got from attendees:
It seems to me IT is pushing management to strategise and work on KPIs (Thank you for an excellent morning)
Found the entire presentation insightful and professional. Thank you.
Please keep hosting events like this to bring users and companies together and delivering great insights.
Keep up with the good work, and one day Business/Technology would be merged into the ultimate tool.
We hope even if you weren’t there you’ll start your own journey to relevant IT and will be using BI to make better business decisions. Watch the recorded presentations, or read our Business Intelligence blog posts and let us know what you think.
